Perdomo Ventures Down to Florida for NCWA National Wrestling Championships

Michael Perdomo, from Lanham, MD, recognized as Student Athlete of the Week for Fayette, recently attended the NCWA National Wrestling Championships down in Kissimmee, Florida over spring break. After coming in third place in the UMBC Regional Tournament in the 141 pound weight class for the Mid-East Conference, Perdomo qualified for nationals. He competed on March 10th, against Jayce Clary from Grand Canyon University of the West Coast Conference, in the first round of the tournament. Unfortunately, Perdomo was pinned by Clary in 5 minutes 50 seconds. His next competitor was Luke Klein from Grand Valley State who overcame Perdomo 6-2 to win the match. Finishing off the season, Micheal Perdomo had an overall record of 16-14, after coming in fifth in the Apprentice Tournament and second in the PSUAC/USCAA National Wrestling Invitational. Perdomo is also the first wrestler from Fayette to ever qualify and compete in the NCWA National Wrestling Championships.
