Lemont Furnace, PA – Last weekend, the Roaring Lions golf team finished the regular season with two away matches before the PSUAC Championships. The Roaring Lions traveled to Greensburg, PA on Friday to participate in the Westmoreland County Community College Tournament. The final match of the season was in Middletown, Ohio on Saturday for the Miami University Hamilton Harriers Fall Classic.
On Friday, 6 teams played in the tournament at Valley Green in Greensburg, PA. These 6 teams consisted of Penn State Fayette, Westmoreland County Community College, Butler County Community College, Garrett County College, CCAC North and CCAC Boyce. BCCC was victorious at the end with a total team score of 311. The 1st and 2nd place golfers represented this school. Westmoreland County Community College finished 2nd with a score of 327. Penn State Fayette finished with a total team score of 330. Gage Clark was tied for 3rd place with a score of 77. Charlie Fetzner was tied for 6th with a score of 79 and Haley Brothers finished individually in the 3rd place (97) for the Women's Medalist Award.
On Saturday, Penn State Fayette traveled to Middletown, Ohio to finish the regular season with the Miami Hamilton Harriers Fall Classic. Penn State Fayette, Miami Hamilton, Shawnee State, Kent State Tuscarawas and IUP's A team and B team participated on Saturday. Miami Hamilton finished in 1st place with a total team score of 305 with Shawnee State right behind them in 2nd place with a score of 308. Penn State Fayette finished in 5th place with a score of 355. Gage Clark, Noah House and Charlie Fetzner each shot an 88 on the day and Austin Clark finished with a 91.
The PSUAC Championships will begin on Sunday, October 8th at University Park. The Roaring Lions were very successful this season and they hope to finish off the year with a PSUAC championship. Best of luck to the Roaring Lions at the PSUAC Championships!
